Dashashwamedh Ghat is one of the oldest and most vibrant ghats along the Ganges River in Varanasi. It is believed to be the spot where Lord Brahma performed a grand ritual of sacrificing ten horses (“dasha-ashwa-medha”), giving the ghat its name. Today, it is best known for the spectacular Ganga Aarti held every evening, where priests perform synchronized rituals with lamps, chants, and incense, drawing large crowds of devotees and tourists. The ghat remains a central hub of spiritual activity.
